Dearest Mattress,
Admit it. You’ve been coy and non-forthcoming of late, and I don’t mean about baseball.
I shouldn’t hold it against you. After all, you’re probably working pretty hard about now, and perhaps you are actually feeling a bit worn out.
But you might as well admit it: you and Toaster and Candelabra and the rest of the gang are not alone there with Bwana anymore.
You know what I’m referring to. There’s a Bwanette. A Bwanette who forced Bwana to empty Mr. and Mrs. Closet just to accommodate her stuff. A Bwanette who makes TV Set play Project Runway when baseball games get rained out. In short, a Bwanette who is no doubt causing you a whole lot of extra grunting and groaning in the service of your master.
Isn’t this making life a little more stressful for all you guys? Or is it just a case of: if Bwana’s happy, you’re happy?
If so, boy, you guys have generous hearts.
Well, it has been kind of busy with the post-season underway, l’affaire l’Envelope, Special Comments, tightrope practice, and having another human person on the premises.
But we all like her. Especially Bwana. Bwana likes her the most.
She makes Bwana happie, and that is all we need to know.
As Buddha has stated on receiving life’s blessings:
I’m lucky to be here with someone I like
Who maketh my spirit to shine.
Oh wait. That wasn’t Buddha.
That was Warren Zevon.
Well, all is one, don’t you know ….
Yes, we all like her a lot. She’s very nice, but I think she’s getting a little freaked out with Toaster, who has been following her around, dragging his Tigger doll, and asking “Are you my Mommy?”
If she can survive this household I say she’s a keeper.
