Cristiane contributes to Family Tree:
I think you may be on to something – it looks as though Toaster may very well be related to the Easy-Bake Oven. If I remember, you said that T is not a terribly powerful appliance (except in our hearts, of course) – is he also powered by a lightbulb? They may be long-lost cousins.
Blue Velvet adds:
There’s a Video Toaster Flyer mentioned in the Wikipedia article. Given the current toy thread, how does the VTF relate to the Radio Flyer? http://www.radioflyer.com/index.html
I’m imagining Toaster and Wagon tooling about for the day… :)
Golly-wolly! Brilliant observations!
Toaster doesn’t have a lightbulb in his tummy. But he is an awfully low-wattage kind of guy. There could be a stronger Easy-Bake connection than I had originally thought.
Video Toaster Flyer must be from the Entertainment branch of the family tree — Toaster being from the Kitchen Appliance branch. VTF is much more streamlined than our Little Guy.

Toaster has a lot of parts. A lot:

(See? No lightbulb.)
Video Toaster Flyer needs 1GB of RAM. Geez. Toaster keeps track of things by writing down notes on a little piece of paper.
We will explore the Video Toaster Flyer-Radio Flyer connection. Toaster could also be related to the Flexible Flyer.

Flight is an attribute well-documented in Toaster’s family:
It was once thought that Flying Toasters were extinct, but they’re not.
Flying out of the Sun
The smell of toast is in the air
When there’s a job to be done
The Flying Toasters will be there! And it’s flap, flap, flap
Now help is on the way
A vict’ry song they sing
They pop up to save the day
On mighty toaster wings! In brightest day or after dark
When times of trouble are at hand
The Flying Toasters set a spark
And hope is blazing ‘cross the land! And it’s flap, flap, flap
Salvation from above
A precious gift they bring
Gleaming angels of love
On mighty toaster wings!
