Whew!
We finally heard from Toaster. He sent a postcard from Beijing.
Sheila was right; the Tofu Guys are missing:
You will know for sure if Toaster is in China if the Tofu Guys are also missing. In fact I thought I saw them at one point,or maybe it was their cousins, in the opening ceremony. Those square blocks moving up and down in the middle of the stadium during part of the show looked very familiar.
We didn’t think the Tofu Guys would go to Beijing. Chinese people love eating tofu and it would be pretty dangerous for them over there. But since they are wearing their Groucho glasses no one has figured out that they are little chunks of beancurd.
Who knew tofu could be so stealthy?
Toaster is having a fun time in China. He’s seen a lot. He wanted to visit the Forbidden City, but since it’s forbidden he didn’t go. For a small appliance, he is very law-abiding.
He’s also in love with the Water Cube. He says it looks like a big toaster:
