rrgirl ponders in You’re only young once, but you can be immature forever

yes, deep thoughts. mature may not equal ripe. crispy but not brittle. sweet, without contrived complexity or cloying artifice. challenging textures worth exploring beyond goo and grit. not being in too much of a hurry.

Crusty on the outside but soft and warm on the inside? Like a baguette?

We didn’t find a Man Ripeness Chart, but we did find one for mangoes:

Bwana doesn’t strike us as being very mango-like. Maybe he’s more like a banana:

50’s – 60’s: This banana is getting on in age, but is by no means useless. While it’s not what it used to be, it is actually ideal for being around younger bananas to help them get ripe. Not unlike a teacher.

Maybe this is why Bwanette likes him so much.
