Hokey smokey! The years sure roll by fast!

There’s no better way to celebrate the day than with a slice of hot toaster topped with butter.

And a case of Champagne.

Sheila commented in Yay!:

Congratulations to Bwana! I wish him much success in his new endeavor. And tell toaster the best time to hit Bwana up for a raise in his allowance would be just after ‘Spring Training’ starts. *knowing wink*

Well, the only bad thing about Bwana’s new job is that it came about so quickly that he won’t be able to take Toaster on an extended trip to Spring Training.

Darn it!

But Toaster understands. Someone has to put the “mock” in “democracy.”

Bwana has a job again!

Keith Olbermann to Host Show and Have Executive Role at Current TV:

Keith Olbermann, the former MSNBC anchor and liberal firebrand, will host a prime-time program for Current TV, the low-rated cable channel co-founded by Al Gore, starting in the spring.

The untitled hour of news and commentary will effectively mimic “Countdown,” the MSNBC program that Mr. Olbermann conceived eight years ago and quit hosting last month. Mr. Olbermann told reporters on a conference call Tuesday that the new program would be “an improved, and we hope amplified and stronger, version of the show that I just did.”

But this probably isn’t a good time for Toaster to hit him up for a bigger allowance.

The Answer is: Bwana!

Last Saturday’s show included a question on Toaster’s favorite human person: Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me!

State of the Bwana.

He’s doing very well since the divorce, although has developed a strange addiction to Tweeting. Toaster says that it’s a good creative outlet since Bwana doesn’t do the news every night any longer.

And while we have nothing against the great state of Connecticut, moving outside of NYC would make it really, really hard for Bwana and Toaster to make it to Yankees and Mets game.

Just sayin'.

Snake Owners See Furry Bias in Invasive Species Proposal

But like many snake lovers, Mr. Stone has been seething at the American government since early last year, when it sought to ban the importation and interstate transportation of nine species of foreign snakes. The federal Fish and Wildlife Service said the animals, if freed, posed a serious risk to native ecosystems across the southern United States.

Well, you have to admit that snakes don’t often make it to Cute Overload.

Toasters make good pets. They are quiet, fairly clean, and very loyal. If they don’t get enough attention, however, they have been known to wander.
